FAQ
All the quilts listed on this page are made and ready for their new home. Once payment has been received , I will get them in the mail to you or your chosen recipient as soon as possible.
Shipping
I use Australia Post to ship both within Australia and internationally. Having said that, if I find a cheaper and better way to get your quilt to you, I will use it. The web site uses Australia Post fees to charge you the postage to wherever you want the quilt to go, but if there is a significant difference the extra you have paid will be refunded to you.
Your parcels will be able to be tracked, both within Australia and internationally. Australia Post is responsible for the delivery of parcels. Please ensure that we have a correct address for delivery. Should an order go missing whilst in transit, please contact us so we can liaise with Australia Post and find out where the parcel is.
International shipping rates do not include customs or duty charges. We have no control over those charges and they are the sole responsibility of the person placing the order.
Payments
I have found that PayPal is the best and easiest way to pay for items, but I realise that not everyone is comfortable with giving credit card details to a third party. Direct Deposit is available, but you will need to contact me for bank details. The quilt will not be sent until the deposit has appeared in my bank account.
No cheques please.
International customers can direct deposit, but PayPal is significantly quicker, cheaper and safer.
Layby arrangements
I understand that sometimes people’s budgets don’t allow them to make major purchases without the availability of layby (or part payments over a period of time). I am prepared to offer this facility on quilts over $400, using a Paypal subscription setup, and a 50% deposit. The full payment must be completed within 6 weeks, with 3 equal fortnightly payments for the balance. During this time, I am prepared to remove the quilt from sale whilst payments are being made.
BUT if one payment is missed, for whatever reason, the quilt will go back on the website as available for sale. All monies will be refunded less PayPal fees which I am charged, and any other fees which might be applied by a third party.
Any questions, please contact me.
Returns
Please choose carefully as quilts will not be accepted for a refund unless there is a significant issue with the quilt, such as defects in workmanship. Reasons such as wrong size, wrong colour, changed mind and the like will not be accepted.
The reasoning is that I have no idea if you have used the quilt, which means I cannot relist it again as “new”.
I take great care in making sure the quilts are as perfect as I can make them. I take pride in my workmanship and I have made every endeavour to ensure the photos and descriptions of the quilts are as accurate as can be.
Commissioning a custom quilt
I am happy to make a quilt for you, to your specifications. Bear in mind that it will take weeks to make it and get it to you; the more complicated the quilt the longer it will take. Also it will be more expensive (generally speaking) than the ones already listed.
The main exception to this, is that if you see one on the website and want it in a different colourway, it can be made relatively quickly.
If you are commissioning a quilt for a significant occasion, you need to contact me at least 3 months ahead, as these special orders can take significantly more time to complete, depending on the pattern of the quilt and the amount of quilting required.
